Weight and Learn

A stay-at-home mom learning how to be happy and healthy.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day today since tomorrow we are not going to be home much.  We generally don’t do anything for eachother but I decided this year to do something littleHershey kiss for the kids.  I bought a small bag of Hersey kisses and hid them around the house and the kids had a “kiss hut”.  Once they realized what they were looking for, they both said they wanted to eat them all immediately but was happy to put them into the candy container.  When the hut was done, 50 kisses were collected and each got to eat one.  That was it.  They ate their kiss and went to play.  No complaints, no whining.  I looked at my husband in disbelief.  With all the talk about eating them all I thought there would at least be some negotiation for more.

My husband says that he never feels the need or desire for something sweet.  The odd occasion that he might remember we have cookies or something, it is usually not there anymore.  I ate it.  My kids are more excited about finding and collecting candy than really eating it.  Halloween, Easter etc. are all about the hunt, not so much about the eating of candy.

I’ve eaten 3 kisses so far today.  They’re calling to me upstairs in the cupboard.  Out of sight but not out of mind.
