Statistics say that you loose more weight when you write down the food that you consume because it makes you more aware of what goes in your mouth. I’ve been lazy this weekend and didn’t write anything down and it has made a big difference. I still made pretty good choices all weekend but when it’s 4 o’clock and you can’t remember what you had for lunch so you have a snack because you think you’re hungry only to realize you also forgot about the snack you had an hour ago, you get yourself into trouble. I am much more in control when I’m mindful and writing it down really helps. An added bonus is that I have a record of what meals worked, and what didn’t. I have also found that I often think I’m doing a lot worse then I really am. Once I write it down, I have a different perspective on my choices and realize that I’m okay and can correct my course for the day. If it’s all in my head, I think the worse and the rest of the day just keeps sliding downhill. New day. New page.
